Sunday 14 April 2013

I would like to say a massive, heartfelt thank you to all the pupils, parents and staff who made my last couple of days in school so special. It was great to reminisce about all the wonderful and exciting things that have happened under the international banner at Cookridge- here's to many more!
It is due to the hardwork and commitment of you all that has led to our success. And we have had success! We have been awarded with the full International School award twice, been commended in the HSBC International Primary School and awarded International co-ordinator of the year for the UK. I would like to especially mention the parents, who organised a fantastic afternoon of food, chat, cards and gifts (see Mrs Bailey's blog!). Cookridge is very fortunate to have such a group of dedicated people and they have played a vital work in our international work- in recognising and celebrating diversity and addressing global issues.
The International School Council has also done a tremendous job, from leading a global conference of 220 children, working with schools near and far and being expert tour guides for the numerous international visitors we have had through the door. Keep up the great work team :-) Thank you Scott and all the other children for delivering an amazing assembly on the last day of term too. I now have my ticket to ride!
A team of four members of staff are leaving for Slovakia, as part of the Comenius project on the 25th April- the international work continues and I wish all you global citizens, young and old all the very best.

Keep in touch,
Mrs Speak
PS Mrs Hawkins has kindly offered to take this blog over, thank you Mrs H!
